Kristin Fisher was hired by CNN on July 20, 2021 as Space and Defense Correspondent. She is a reporter covering everything including NASA, the Space Force and commercial space companies, to the emergence of space tourism. Kristin, her mother was one of NASA astronauts as well as a space enthusiast, grew up immersed in the field. She served for five years in the position of White House correspondent for FOX News covering space policy under the Biden and Trump administrations. In that period she also covered impeachment trials for the president and the presdiential 2020 campaign, as well as two attempts by the administration to stop the spread of coronavirus. Former president Donald Trump traveled to Afghanistan for a restricted trip. Before joining the network in 2015, Kristin spent nearly a 10 years working her way up in local TV news stations which included Grand Junction, Colorado; Little Rock, Arkansas; and Washington, D.C. where she was awarded an Emmy Award as a one-man-band reporter for the Washington, D.C.'s CBS affiliate. Kristin made use of her experiences behind the lens to start Field Mouse Films. The firm specialized in making documentary films, and became a preferred choice of corporate clients such as Uber, Starwood Hotels & Resorts. Kristin has a Bachelor of Science degree in Journalism from Boston University. She and her husband reside at Washington, D.C., and has a three-year old daughter.
